National robotic surgery registry

A shared database where surgeons record their robotic cases and outcomes, so that every centre can learn from the experience of others.

Coming soon

Why a national registry

  • Track the safety and outcomes of robotic surgery in Egypt, across every specialty.
  • Let surgeons and centres compare their results with national figures.
  • Support research and publications based on Egyptian data.
  • Give trainees a record of their cases as they progress through the training pathway.

What will be recorded

The registry will collect case details such as the procedure and specialty, the robotic platform used, operating time, conversion, complications, length of stay and outcomes after surgery. The final data set will be agreed by the board and the specialty leads.

Who can contribute

Member surgeons and the hospitals where they operate robotically. Joining the registry is voluntary; you can tell us you are interested when you apply for membership.

Data protection

Patient information in the registry will be anonymised. The registry will follow Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) and the approvals required by each participating hospital.

Status

In preparation. The registry will open to member centres once its data set and approvals are in place.
